Re: The forum lives.....
Thank you for the kind words and HB will be moving forward at a very rapid pace this year now that we have a scalable platform. We have some very unique ideas that I think will be very beneficial to forums like this one.
BTW, every forum is now skinable and every icon/button can be replaced so your forum can be 100% unique.
Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday weekend...

Steven I would say that once you have the basics in hand, by sure that Google is finding all the threads. It's Google and the other search engines that lead people here. Very important.

I agree SEO is extremely important. In fact we build and submit site maps daily to Google, Bing, Yahoo & Ask
Also if you look at the bottom of the front forum page you will see we are now also showing what spiders are on the system currently. I also not only own hostboard.com but, .net, .org, .biz, .mobi, .us, .info
Also I just realized there was mention back a few threads as to the change in URLs vs just not allowing for duplicate content and I did not want you to think I was skipping the comment. We actualy did vist this idea and found that we need to to lock tables and scan for redundent information. Seeing as there are a few hundred forums, not a big deal. Given we grow to a few thousand then we are back at square one with a very laggy system. We really tried to come up with a solution as we knew the URL change was really not going to win any fans but in the end everyhting we did took a performance hit and if we grew the performance hit grew as well.

Re: The forum lives.....
I have been working on the search issue the last few hours and I am in the process of rebuilding all 1.8 million posts. Should be finished sometime this evening EST. I did notice that by searching "altec" it yeilded 90 results so it seems the rebuild is working.

Everything seems to be running great now; many thanks to those responsible. I also like that now a thread can be read without first scrolling past an entire page of unrelated stuff.
